Help Honor our Ancestors
Join one of the many and varied efforts to protect our historic and scenic heritage in New England and beyond!
By working with groups like those listed below or through selfless, independent action, our fellow descendants have made a significant difference on the ground and around the country. An unfortunate by-product of the laudable Yankee “Can-Do!” spirit was that it treated our resources as inexhaustible and our natural and historic legacy as worth only what the market would pay for it. While their voices were few, there were some deeply rooted New Englanders such as Henry David Thoreau who began to change such notions and we as citizens are the better for that evolution in thinking. Some descendants deserving of special note for their lasting generosity include: Francis Swanzy Morgan, Hawaii; Russell Platt & Frances (Simes) Hastings, California; Col. Charles & Anne (Morrow) Lindbergh via the Lindbergh Foundation; George & Jean (Chappell) Cranmer, Colorado; Dr. Milton & Rachel Hastings (Granger) Wegeforth, California and Mrs. Maria (Hastings) Cary, Massachusetts.
